While the “Edit in Grid View” feature in custom lists is convenient, there have been requests to disable it due to concerns about too many operations being possible. Here’s a note on how to do this.
What We Want to Achieve
We want to remove the “Edit in Grid View” option that appears in this ribbon menu. 
Configuration Steps
Click the gear icon in the top right corner and select “List settings” 
Select “Advanced settings” 
In the settings page, change “Quick Edit” to “No” and click “OK” 
After applying these changes, the “Edit in Grid View” option will no longer appear in the ribbon menu 
Also Applicable to Document Libraries
For document libraries, you can follow the same steps to disable this feature by accessing “Library settings”
